Meeting Reports Elmont Fire District hosted the last LIEVT meeting on March 22. Fifty members enjoyed the excellent dinner – the Fire Chefs’ Hats were certainly earned! Some pictures were uploaded to the archive (clicking the thumbnails in the righthand column of this site will take you there). The president, Steve Velazquez, opened the meeting and introduced the guests – Richard Cone, Product Support Manager of Detroit Diesel, Richard M. Weber, Jr., Vice President of On-Highway Sales of Atlantic Detroit Diesel-Allison and Mark V. Francis, Territory Manager of Atlantic Detroit-Diesel-Allison. Mark Francis led the presentation which included the 2007 medium and heavy duty diesel emission standards and the technology used to comply with the EPA standards. Every aspect of fuels and filters was discussed. They offered to have a coolant class for the members. There is a link on http://www.lievt.org. The members appreciated the Q & A session that followed.
