Meeting Reports The regular meeting of the Long Island Emergency Vehicle Technicians was held on Thursday, September 20 at the Westbury Fire District. Forty members enjoyed an excellent dinner. The LIEVT Fire Chefs Hats were presented.
The president, Steve Velazquez opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag. He introduced Jim Wark, the regional director of Niedner Canada – Tyco Safety Products. He demonstrated Niedner’s Delta Hydro Hose Tester HT-2000SS. This is a stainless steel, electric operated hose tester with a 2” manifold, a 2.5” inlet valve and six 2.5” outlets . The outlets each have fully automatic one way check valves that prohibit water pressure from back into the manifold – this reduces labor and increases safety. It is also available with a 5.5 hp Honda gas engine.
Steve presented the Westbury Fire District hosts and Jim Wark with plaques before he conducted the raffle. Unfortunately, we did not get photos of the meeting for our website.
