Minutes of the January 2023 Meeting

This month's meeting was held at the Copiague Fire Headquarters on Tuesday January 31. The meeting was called to order by President Manetta with a Pledge to the Flag followed by a moment of silence at 20:04 hours with 41 members present.

Due to the absence of the Secretary at last month's meeting there were no minutes to read from the December meeting held in Brentwood

There was a discussion about making a donation in the name of Jack McLoughlin, founder of Fire Research Corporation, and a great supporter of our Organization as well as the fire service in general. Motion made and accepted to donate $500.00 to the FASNY Firefighter's Home on the Hudson in Jack's name.

On to training, Barbara informed us that Hank Henninge will be getting us some information regarding EVT tests in the near future. A discussion followed about upcoming classes and topics that would interest the membership. DPF, VGT, and DEF were brought up as possible topics to explore. Gina Mitchell our Eagle Chevy Rep will be providing us with a class or two in the upcoming months. As this is trade show season Barbara will speak with any of the manufacturer Reps that might possibly send us a speaker/trainer.

Bill Eletto of Safe Fleet spoke briefly about his product line and his availability to any of us with questions or concerns. He then introduced Brian Foley of FRC who presented an informative power point presentation on FRC pump governors, tank level gauges, and discharge gauges. Brian is available through FRC Tech Services and informed us that all of their product Manuals are available on line.
