- I don't use AOL, but I noticed there was a mention about AOL and Flickr on their site so I thought I would post it just in case any of our users have a problem:
85. I'm an AOL user having trouble viewing photos. What's going on?
AOL 9.0 uses the AOL TopSpeed technology to speed up browsing. Under the AOL Keyword: 'Browser Settings', there is a section called 'Web Graphics'. For Flickr to display properly, the 'Never compress graphics' option must be selected, which is not the default option. Close AOL and log on again. - hint: Once you arrive at the lievtpics website, if you want to see a larger version of an image click the small icon for "All sizes" just above the image.
- If you set up a free flickr account, you can upload your own images to share with folks. It's really easy and its a much better solution that emailing pictures to people. Once they are on the flickr site, you can send a link to them via email to multiple people and (if the recipient is on a dial-up account) the recipient is not stuck downloading some big images when they didn't have time to deal with it.
