If all our members become current with their dues for 2005, we may be able to have each member bring a guest at no charge,. Please send a check for membership if you have not paid. We have had a paid membership in the past of more than 100 and this year we have only 84 paid members to date.

Steve is working with Hale Pumps to have a full day class at his Setauket Fire Department early in 2006. He pointed out the article published in Fire News on the anniversary of the Sunrise fires.

Chief Jimmy Baker gave credit to the Fire Mechanics of LI who kept the vehicles working during the crisis. Steve asked the attendees to recommend sites for the next few meetings. We would like to do our calendar in advance – we have many excellent speakers lined up but we need locations. We have tried to commit to the last Wednesday of the month for regular meetings. If there is any doubt, please go to the web site. http://www.lievt.org.

The first presentation was made by Ken Wagner of East West Fire Apparatus Consulting with Jim DiNapoli working with his Power Point presentation. Everything from specifications, writing, bidding, acceptance and familiarization training was covered in detail.

John Haines of C E Niehoff & Co. did an informative program on alternators. He told the attendees to contact him if anyone would like to do testing with their products. The raffles were excellent and numerous. Rescue Vehicles provided a TV/DVD combination and hats, FRC gave a $50 gift certificate as well as shirts and hats. United Plastic Fabricators sent two jackets and Fire News sent theater tickets. Other items included hats, models, vodka, shirts and pens.
