- SPEAKER - Chief Instructor John Brown of the Nassau County Fire Academy will discuss PUMP TESTING. He will go over the testing process for the NFPA compliance and plans to distribute copies of the standard to the members in attendance.
- EVT Preparation, Registration and Test - Chris Lo Preto, our member who moonlights as a college instructor, reports that 10 members took 23 tests. The first timers at the preparatory classes were very impressed.

- NYS Fire Districts Show- Nov. 2 - 4 Nevele Grand Hotel – Ellenville NY
- HOLIDAY CELBRATION – Thursday, December 7 – The third annual holiday event will be held in the evening at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport, NY – No charge for members in good standing. RSVP
- Our member, Tommy Gleason, Chief Engineer and ex-Chief of Empire Hose Co. # 3 of Merrick is in need for his three year old daughter, Shannon. Blood will be collected at the Commack Fire Department on Jericho Turnpike on Saturday, November 11 from 9 AM to 2:30 PM. For information call Corrinne Kuhn @ 631-642-3297. Shannon is a patient at Memorial Sloan-Kettering with a rare form soft tissue cancer and requires frequent blood and platelet transfusions www.caringbridge.org/visit/shannong. There will be a blood collection in Nassau in December and a fundraising dinner and show on Jan. 13 in Merrick.
- Thanks to all at the East Farmingdale Fire Department for their hospitality in October. The comments were excellent. The group enjoyed Jack McLoughlin of Fire Research Corp. who made a presentation at the last minute when our scheduled speaker, Lieut. Mike Wilbur, FDNY, had a family emergency.
- DIRECTIONS to North Bellmore Fire Dept. – Southern State Pkwy. to Exit 25 South – Newbridge Road South on Newbridge Rd. _ mile – pass Bellmore Av – Station #1 is on the right side – the Vamps Club is on the south corner of Newbridge Rd and Broad St. directly opposite the Newbridge Road School where parking is available in the horseshoe driveway. You can also park in the rear of NBFD on Broad Street. DO NOT PARK IN THE FIREHOUSE PARKING LOT.
- 2006 dues – $50. Payable to Fire District Mechanics Society - 2007 dues are needed now for each member to be able to bring a guest to the holiday event at no charge.
