We again discussed issues with e mails and asked the members including our vendors that were present to please ask anyone they come in contact with if they are receiving our mail and if not to reach out to a Board member or Barbara.
Bill Krakehl brought up possibly starting a "Group me" Chat group using cell numbers. We discussed a big advantage of a this would be being able to ask the entire membership for a special tool or even a part that one of us may have in stock that would speed up a repair. Barbara is going to open a group and add our numbers. As most of us do not spend a lot of time reading e mails the chat group will help communication in real time.
Junes meeting will be held in Westbury with the discussion of recent NFPA updates along with our "end of the year" bar-b-q prior to taking a break for the summer with the fun restarting in September.
The evening training was provided by James (Sorry I failed to get his last name) and Todd Fell of Idex regarding the SAM system as well as Hale pumps and Akron valves. The classroom portion was followed by a trip outside in the drizzle where we actually were able to watch and operate the system on their demo truck. AND as one last bonus we learned that the nozzle speaks to the pump even when it?s not connected to the hose line??. We were wet from the rain anyway.
